I have worked in the wine industry over the last several decades. The wine label has evolved in both the beauty of the printing and the functionality and logistics of putting them on to a bottle. New inks, embossing/debossing, printing presses, digital capabilities, adhesives, and papers have all played a role in how our wines are perceived and subsequently, purchased.
There are many label printers. Some are better than others. What drew me to ASL, however, was a relationship. One that I trusted and that I had followed over several printing companies over the years. Why? Because while there are many printing companies, your job is always in the hands of a person. And when you trust the knowledge, experience and talent of the person you work with, then you know that your vision for the wine label you expect will be a success in their hands.
When I started with ASL, it was as a new employee to the wine producer I work with, Westwood Estate Wines. I couldn’t afford to have a less than stellar label printed and did not want anything to go wrong. The labels are embossed with foil. They are striking. My forte is in logistics, not printing, and I knew that the ASL team would have my back. They worked with our designer to confirm all specs for the label and went above white-glove customer service when we were delayed again and again. When the labels arrived, not only did we make our bottling date, but the labels were exactly what we had envisioned.
ASL is adding new capabilities as they grow, and as technology advances. I look forward to working with them and bringing more clients along to ensure their continued success, and ours, as well! – Julie Koetzner
